Daily Market Summary
The HSI advanced and broke through the 10-day MA, as China’s PMI Non-manufacturing hit a record high in half a year. The index closed at 23,214, up 229 pts. The market turnover was HK$53.26bn.
CHINA UNICOM (762) and CHINA TELECOM (728) surged 8.4% and 7.6% respectively, with the former being the top gainer in the HSI, on news that the industry regulator may reduce their interconnection fees. CHINA MOBILE (941) slid 0.7% to HK$86.5. Macau Sept’s gaming revenue grew 21% yoy, leading gains in related shares. GALAXY ENT (27) jumped 5.1% to HK$58.7, and SANDS CHINA (1928) rose 3.9% to HK$50.6, both reaching record high. Mobile and telecommunications equipment sector gained. TCL COMM (2618) soared 13.6% to HK$5.69. ZTE (763) and COMBA (2342) climbed 4.9% and 4.3% respectively.
