Daily Market Summary

The HSI ended flat yesterday, closing at 23,540, down 5 pts. The market turnover further shrank to HK$48.25bn.

    Macau gaming shares declined. SANDS CHINA (1928) fell 2% to HK$59.9, the steepest loss in the HSI. GALAXY ENT (27) and WYNN MACAU (1128) slid 1.2% and 1.6% respectively. China will spend over RMB320bn on 14 railway projects, leading gains in related shares. CHINA CNR (6199) soared 7.4% to HK$5.94. CSR (1766) jumped 4.5% to HK$6.53. CSR TIME ELECTRIC (3898) and CHINA RAIL CONSTRUCTION (1186) both rose 4%. Mainland developers advanced. CHINA OVERSEAS LAND (688) and CHINA RES LAND (1109) climbed 1.7% and 1.6% respectively. CHINA VANKE (2202) once hit record high at HK$16.58, and retreated, closing at HK$15.7, down 0.6%.
