Daily Market Summary
Hong Kong stocks performed well along with the mainland markets last Friday. The HSI once reached 25,132 pts, and closed at 25,112, up 118 pts. The turnover on the main board shrank to HK$63.67bn.
HSBC HOLDINGS (5) climbed 0.9% to HK$83.2, the steepest gain in HSI. CHINA RESOURCES (291) sank 5.6% to HK$21.95, after announcing worse-than-expected results. Telecommunications equipment shares advanced. COMBA (2342) soared 11.7% to HK$3.06. ZTE (763) rose 3.3%. Mobile phone manufacturers declined. COOLPAD (2369) slumped 7.3% to HK$1.78. TCL COMMUNICATION (2618) and SIM TECH (2000) slid 2.6% and 1.2%. Mainland financial shares gained. PING AN (2318) and CHINA LIFE (2628) rose 1.9% and 0.9%, and CCB (939) climbed 1%.
