Daily Market Summary
The HSI slumped in late trading hours yesterday, and failed to stand above 25,000 and the 10-day MA at market close. The index closed at 24,918, down 155 pts. The main board turnover was HK$67.56bn.
HENDERSON LAND (12) interim underlying profit grew 46% YoY, driving up share price by 4.1% to HK$53.5, the steepest gain in the HSI. China is considering to provide a RMB100bn fund for electric-vehicle charging facilities. BYD (1211) soared 5.9% to HK$53.9. CHINA DYNAMICS (476) and CHINA TITANS ENERGY (2188) jumped 4.4% and 6.2%. Mainland banks retreated. ABC (1288) slid 0.8%, after announcing net profit growth of 13% for H1 2014. CM BANK (3968) and CCB (939) slid 1.5% and 1.2% respectively. Mobile operators advanced. CHINA TELECOM (728) rose 1.6% to HK$4.41. CHINA MOBILE (941) and CHINA UNICOM (762) climbed 1.3% and 0.2%.
